The Cowboys have had their last practice before they head to San Francisco to take on the 49ers in preseason. Jason Garrett stepped up to the podium to address the media before the Cowboys depart. We’ll see if he drops any clues about the upcoming game, which veterans will participate and how they plan to approach it. We’ll also get his thoughts on the Robert Quinn suspension.

Response to Robert Quinn suspension and his agent’s statement
Jason Garrett noted that the Cowboys were aware of the situation involving Robert Quinn being suspended and they support and trust him 100%. Noted his agent came out with a statement but didn’t want to comment on that. The head coach offered the team’s support to their new defender and even said that they’re excited about his future.
The Cowboys have known for a few weeks this was a possibility
Asked how long they have known that this could be a situation with Robert Quinn, Jason Garrett said the new it was a possibility for a few weeks.
No comment on the tradition of suspended defenders
The Cowboys have had key defenders suspended to begin their seasons in each of the last six seasons. Jason Garrett didn’t want to comment specifically but said it wasn’t something they don’t want and they would have to respond to it.
When will Tyrone Crawford be back?
He won’t practice this upcoming week, he might be able to go once they get back to Dallas, that is the plan.
Game action is important for Travis Frederick
it’s been a long time since all of the Cowboys have played a game but it’s been even longer for Travis Frederick. Jason Garrett discussed how real action is vital for all players and that it will be great experience.
Is Maliek Collins’ great camp just a product of him finally being healthy?
Garrett noted he is healthy and is having an excellent camp. Coach said that he’s a really good player and that health issues have held him back in the past.
Joe Jackson’s good camp?
He’s doing a good job, has a long way to go but is learning everyday. He loves to play and is tough. He is learning new techniques at camp but did a good job in the Blue/White scrimmage and in practice this week.
What do you want to see out of Tony Pollard in the preseason game?
You want to see him, and any player, take what they have worked on in camp into the game. You want them to execute plays and play the right way.
